Xbox One Won’t Support Third Party Headsets Until Next Year

Quick Chat

If you were hoping to pair up your Xbox One purchase with some fancy headgear, you’ll have to wait until next year. Microsoft recently confirmed a statement saying that the Xbox One Headset Adapter, which allows for third party support, won’t be available until early 2014.

While players wait to upgrade to gear like Turtle Beach’s XO Ear Force line (pictured right), they’ll have to make do with the included mono headset. At least it’s a pack-in now, after originally being announced as a separately-sold accessory.

In the meantime, Microsoft plans to work with its partners to “create new headsets that will take full advantage of the Xbox One technology.” The console launches on November 22.
